Our History
On January 18, 1987, Lighthouse Baptist Church opened its doors. The church was founded on the Word of God, soul winning, and a desire to spiritually influence people’s lives for the glory of God. Under the leadership of Pastor Randy Ralstin, the church met in the front room of his family’s home. After a few months, it was obvious that God was accomplishing great things in the life of this congregation. People were being saved, baptized and added to the church regularly, and before long it became apparent that Lighthouse needed a larger home to accommodate its growing membership. For the next several years, Lighthouse would relocate several times until purchasing 10+ acres of land. A building program would reveal the generosity of God’s people, as God would bless financially for them to build a facility that our church family now calls home.
These many years, God has used Lighthouse to bless, encourage and help thousands of people through its ministry. God has blessed Pastor Ralstin by surrounding him with an amazing group of volunteer laborers that have made Lighthouse a church with a heart for souls. The main purpose of Lighthouse is to give the Gospel out to every individual within our city, our surrounding communities and then to the world through an active missions' program. God has blessed our church with beautiful facilities which continues to be a tool to reaching the lost, the broken, and the hurting, along with building lives and families for God's glory.
Our history is filled with godly people striving together to see souls saved and lives changed for the glory of God. As we look ahead to the future, there is no doubt that God will continue to use Lighthouse Baptist Church as a beacon of hope both in the Truckee-Meadows region and around the world.
